Herzlich Wilkommen zu meinem Blog!

Guten Abend Ihr Lieben!

Yesterday I had my first mandatory orientation for the U of M Center for German and European Studies and the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation's "USA Goes to Berlin" program. I have received a fellowship from them to teach and study in Berlin for a month this summer. I am very excited and ready to start blogging my thoughts and feelings as I prepare for the journey. Also, we are required to keep a journal while we are abroad, so this will be an easy way to keep my impressions in one place. (I will probably edit them before submitting it officially, as my hope is to be as real with you as possible here.)

I have a lot of homework and studying to do this evening, but I will follow up with what I gained from the orientation soon! =)

And I promise, I will wrap up my India blog officially before I go to Berlin. Sorry to leave you hanging there...

Final note: The title of this blog is a play on the German pronunciation of Berlin (which you can hear here if you click on the little loudspeaker icon next to where it says 'Berlin' on the German side) + my name.

I've missed writing to you all, hope you've missed reading :P

Bis später!
Zena
